The term “friend” has changed quite a bit in recent times, much of it due to the new electronic media and social networking. I get invites via Facebook, Twitter, etc, daily, as you all do, from someone I’ve never heard of wants to be my “friend”. A new friend?
What exactly is a friend anyway? [...]

We’ve all heard of Power Naps. In kindergarten, they called it “Nappy Time”. We were always so full of energy afterwards. Now, as adults, one frowns when we spread out our little “blankie”, the one with either the Power Rangers or Power Puff Girls theme on them, and take a quick nap. That’s too bad! [...]

Of course, but if you’ve already been certified as a genius, you don’t need to read any further. Some noted geniuses were just born that way. We’ve all heard how Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed his first masterpiece, Andante in C, at the age of 5. At the age of 5, I was still being potty [...]

Many angel investors will tell you, that of the hundreds of business plans they receive each month, only a handful address the due diligence process. Investors will always allow a little puffery in a business plan, but they’ll also want to see the “proof in the pudding”, before any money changes hands. This is commonly [...]

The company selling “Icy Hot” probably wouldn’t sell as much, if it were called – “Lukewarm!” That’s not very appealing. Revelation 3:15-16 tells us, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot, I wish you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am going [...]

According to the 2008 American Religious Identification Survey, sponsored by Trinity College, 76% of all American adults identified themselves as “Christians”. Just imagine how this country would be, if in fact, 76% of all Americans were truly born-again Believers? How many times have we ever asked ourselves this question – “Is that person really a [...]

We’ve all heard the expression – “K.I.S.S.” Originally, it meant – “Keep It Simple Stupid”. Later, that was changed to – “Keep It Short and Simple”. Now, it means – “Keep It Super Short” ala Twitter. That brings us to the famous investor “elevator pitch”, meaning that you have TWO minutes to turn a skeptic [...]

In “another” life, I worked for an investment banker. This was in the late 1980’s when the Saving & Loans scandals were just hitting the newspapers. It was amazing how some of these companies had squandered their client’s hard earned dollars. I remember one Texas S&L that had spent $700,000 on a hunting lodge for [...]

It’s 4:20 am and you’re suddenly awake. You have a great idea in your head for a brand new business. You shoot out of bed, grab a pen and paper and write down some quick notes. You then go back to bed with a huge “Cheshire cat” grin, because this idea is a “sure bet winner”! [...]

Exodus 3 tells us – “… and to bring them from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey”. Although Moses was writing about the Promised Land of Israel, I think this term can be used to describe the United States of America. How many millions have left [...]
